Renewable energy investment in South Africa
South Africa’s electricity market is opening to private generation. Embedded generation no longer needs a generation licence from the National Energy Regulator of South Africa, wheeling is taking shape, and commercial and industrial buyers are contracting directly for clean power. For investors, that creates a growing pipeline of contracted, long-dated renewable assets — rooftop and ground-mount solar, battery storage and multi-site portfolios — with established offtakers on the other side of the agreement.
Enerthia sits where those projects are formed. We engineer each project, structure the best-fit funding model and appoint delivery partners from our 55-EPC network, so every opportunity we bring to a registered investor has already been assessed on technology, offtaker strength and delivery capability. Our work builds on the market the Independent Power Producer Office established through South Africa’s utility-scale programmes, and extends it into the commercial, industrial and agricultural projects that private capital now funds directly.
